INFLUENCED:
THE GAME

Ten influences. Terrible decisions. One functioning brain cell.

A party game where everyone thinks they know best.

The INFLUENCED game box: holographic foil with the embossed eye logo and the line Who will influence your next move?

Everyone has an opinion. Not everyone should be listened to.

Ridiculous, awkward and morally questionable scenarios. Ten very different influences, all shouting at once. Your job: pick the one most likely to get you out alive.

The catch? The sensible-sounding advice isn't always the winning choice. Sometimes the Devil was right. Sometimes the Angel gets you dumped.

Who are you going to let influence you?

DEMO

ROUND 1 OF 3

Scenario card: The Wrong Group Chat. Situation: You've accidentally sent a brutally honest voice note about your best friend to the group chat they're in. They've listened. They're typing. Objective: Save your friendship before the group chat explodes.

Which influence would you trust to handle this?

You won't know what they'll do until you choose.

YOU’RE THINKING FOR YOURSELF

Forget the influences. What would you actually do?

Write at least a sentence to lock it in.

One way the Human might play it: You call them, explain you were venting on a bad day, and offer to buy the first round while you talk it through.

Was yours a genuine, original idea, and not just what one of the influences would say?

In the full game, the table decides. Here, we're trusting you.

Original idea. +1 Brain Cell.

Points for honesty, if not for originality. No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE DEVIL

Double down. Send a second voice note: "And another thing…"

Disaster. −1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE ANGEL

You call them straight away and apologise properly. They need some space. Fair enough.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE FRENEMY

You screenshot it and send it to another group chat "for advice". Now there are two group chats.

Disaster. −1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE LOVER

You send a four-minute voice note about how much they mean to you. Everyone's crying. Nobody's forgotten the first one.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE ENABLER

"Honestly? You only said what everyone was thinking." You stand by it. The chat goes very quiet.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO DESTINY

If the friendship's meant to be, it'll survive this. You put your phone down and let the universe deal with it.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE GHOST

You leave the chat, switch your phone off and emotionally relocate to another country.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE SHAPESHIFTER

"It was an impression for a sketch I'm writing." Somehow, they buy it.

Winner. +1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE OPPORTUNIST

You drop "anyway, who's coming to my birthday?" and change the subject before anyone can reply.

No change.

WHAT EVERYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE DONE

The Shapeshifter: "It was an impression for a sketch I'm writing." Somehow, they buy it.

A genuine original idea. +1 Brain Cell.

ROUND 2 OF 3

Scenario card: The Accidental Upgrade. Situation: You've been accidentally upgraded to first class on a long-haul flight. The crew haven't noticed yet, but the real passenger is now at the gate. Objective: Keep the seat, the perks and your peace of mind.

Which influence would you trust to handle this?

You won't know what they'll do until you choose.

YOU’RE THINKING FOR YOURSELF

Forget the influences. What would you actually do?

Write at least a sentence to lock it in.

One way the Human might play it: You own up, but ask very nicely whether any first-class seats are going spare. They aren't.

Was yours a genuine, original idea, and not just what one of the influences would say?

In the full game, the table decides. Here, we're trusting you.

Original idea. +1 Brain Cell.

Points for honesty, if not for originality. No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE DEVIL

You order champagne, put the eye mask on and pretend to be asleep when they come for you. Nobody's convinced.

Disaster. −1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE ANGEL

You find the crew and hand the seat back before take-off. They thank you with a free drink in economy.

No change.

Disaster. −1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE LOVER

You charm the real passenger so completely they offer to take your economy seat "for the story".

Winner. +1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE ENABLER

You deserve this. You recline fully, order the lobster and enjoy every second while it lasts. It doesn't last.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO DESTINY

This was clearly meant to happen. If they move you, it wasn't meant to be. They move you.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE GHOST

You hide in the first-class toilet until the doors close. You miss the meal service and most of the flight.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE SHAPESHIFTER

You insist you are the real passenger. Then the real passenger shows their passport.

Disaster. −1 Brain Cell.

YOU LISTENED TO THE OPPORTUNIST

You spot an empty seat in 3A and slide over before anyone notices. It works, until 3A boards.

No change.

ROUND 3 OF 3

Scenario card: The Email Error. Situation: You've just sent a very honest (and slightly unhinged) email to the entire company instead of just your manager. It's already getting replies. Objective: Do some damage control and keep your reputation (mostly) intact.

Which influence would you trust to handle this?

You won't know what they'll do until you choose.

YOU’RE THINKING FOR YOURSELF

Forget the influences. What would you actually do?

Write at least a sentence to lock it in.

One way the Human might play it: You message your manager first, then send one calm all-staff email owning it. Awkward, but survivable.

Was yours a genuine, original idea, and not just what one of the influences would say?

In the full game, the table decides. Here, we're trusting you.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO DESTINY

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is your sign to start your own business.

No change.

YOU LISTENED TO THE GHOST

You log off, call in sick and quietly update your LinkedIn.

"Since I have everyone's attention…" You turn it into a pitch to fix the problem. The CEO replies: "Love this. Let's talk."

Winner. +1 Brain Cell.

GAME OVER

BRAIN DEAD 💀

Not out. Just thinking significantly less. Maybe let someone else hold your phone.

A Walking Liability

Your friends love you. Your friends also screen your messages before you send them.

Somehow Still Functioning

Three disasters avoided, no progress made. Impressive, in its own way.

Suspiciously Sensible

Good calls, mostly. Everyone at the table is now slightly worried about you.

The Mastermind

Every call perfectly judged. Nobody will ever trust you again.

That was three scenarios. The full game has a whole deck of them, played with friends who all think they know best.
